Ok let's see - we have an image hosted on a profile that is 1 day old and asks you to visit a website with a strange url with a promise of a financial reward on an another website. How do you even imagine that would work? And now, of course, people start crying that their computers got infected with malware. Which is great - every genius who fell for this obvious phishing scam deserved it. I hope your shitty computer burns and you along with it.

Bronies go nuts, and Nintendo Sucks?Equestria Girls
The trailer to "Equestria Girls" (the humanized MLP spinoff film) finally was released today. Aaaannnd everyone's freaking out. Again.
You know, it actually looks pretty decent. Bronies... please understand: I know you're a major unexpected demographic for the show. I know you enjoy seeing shout-out's become canon within the show, and appreciate how the creators do little things here and there for you. But... the show isn't made for you. This is not Cartoon Network and the target demographic isn't 25 year olds in college. You're a nice addition to the target demographic of little girls, but you are not the driving force behind MLP.
I don't want this to sound mean, but it needs to be said. This is where it becomes very important to understand the fine line between being a fan of the show and thinking that because you've invested so much energy into the show that you're entitled to things.
I'm sure the movie won't be as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It honest

Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

Oh man, guys, what a great time that was, seriously

BULLET POINTS

- Those of you - fellow dA folks and fans alike - who made it out to the con and found me, man did you make my weekend, ALL OF YOU. There are just way too many to list for SHOUT OUTS, but just know you completely rule and it was so awesome to meet all you folks. Thanks so much for coming by the table

was a phenomenal table partner and is a supreme bro (no homo [ok yes homo])

- We had some incredibly awesome neighbors, namely ~oh8 (with whom I'm going to be sharing a table at AX) and the Lava Punch crew, and ~chupachup who is amazingly nice and an amazing artist. So great to meet/hang out with all you dudes

- People went NUTS cosplaying this year, some of the stuff folks put together was seriously jawdropping, especially this one Captain Falcon who was a good enough sport to do the pose from this drawing. It was hilarious

- Those of you who haven't gotten your commissions yet, they are on their way POST-HASTE. I'll note/email you as they're finished. Thanks so much for being patient.

- It should be stressed that my girlfriend, who is NOT AT ALL into anime/manga/comics, was a super good sport about the whole thing and was an invaluable help at the table, especially since I was pretty unprepared for the weekend, haha. THANK YOU BABY, I LOVE YOU

She surprised herself by having such a good time, too, mostly due to how awesome and gracious all you folks who stopped by were

- Probably the highlight of the entire con, though, was this unbelievably adorable little girl named Sarah (who spoke with that lisp you get when you wear braces) who came by and was SO EXCITED that I was there, it caught me completely off guard.  She was SO SWEET.  Seriously, I got kind of choked up talking to her.  Sarah, WHEREVER YOU ARE, thank you for being the best fan EVER and such a nice person in general.

I'm probably going to do an EXPANDED version of this post on LJ so I can include a huge picture dump, since I've got a whole bunch of pics that really need to be shared.  I'll link that when it's all typed up.  For now, THANK YOU AGAIN, EVERYONE.  I can't say it enough, you guys rule.
